Apple’s New Siri Demo Started With a Pie. Then It Got Interesting.
Somewhere between your inbox and your messages is that one detail you need. You remember who mentioned it. You just cannot remember where.
Apple used exactly that problem to show off Siri AI during its iPhone 18 Pro presentation. The demonstration started with a question about a family visit and a homemade pie. Then Apple showed where it wants the assistant to go next.
One Question, More Than One App
In Apple’s demonstration, Siri was asked what someone’s mother wanted to make during her visit. Answering meant connecting information from two places: recipes shared in an email and a message about baking together.
Siri linked the two and identified the plan to make one of Grandma’s pies.
It is an ordinary situation, which makes it a useful example. Finding the answer yourself could mean searching your inbox, opening a message thread, and piecing everything together. Apple says Siri can use personal context across apps like Mail and Messages to do that work for you.

The demonstration continued with a request to add the remaining ingredients to a grocery list. Apple also showed how users can let Siri see what they are looking at and combine that context with current information to answer questions and take action.

Apple says Siri already works with more than 300,000 apps, including familiar actions such as messaging through WhatsApp and playing an audiobook in Audible. Developers can adopt expanded capabilities for tasks such as drafting an Outlook email, finding an assignment in Notability, or saving a restaurant recommendation in Tripsy.
That figure does not mean every app supports every new Siri feature. The available actions will depend on the app and its integration.
Siri Gets Its Own Place on Your Home Screen
The new Siri app gives conversations somewhere to live. You can start a discussion, return to an earlier one, and move between typing and speaking. Apple says conversations sync privately across your Apple products through iCloud.
Siri is also built into the iPhone’s Camera app. Apple demonstrated using it to ask questions and take actions, including adding multiple events to a calendar at once.
Writing support reaches beyond the Siri app, too. Apple says you can use Siri to write and edit virtually anywhere you type, including drafting an email while on the go.
A Voice You Can Adjust
On iPhone 18 Pro, Apple says its most advanced on-device model powers more expressive Siri voices. You can choose a voice and adjust its pace and expressivity.
The same model also improves system-wide dictation, according to Apple, with better handling of punctuation, spelling, and capitalization. Those smaller improvements could matter every time you dictate a message.
