I Put the Duo’s Nano-Texture Film on a Samsung... Does It Work?

There is one part of the Duo’s screen I want to try on a Samsung: the nano-texture film. It is one of my favourite details on the display, so I have a Galaxy Z Fold8 ready for an experiment.

Why I Like This Film

On the Duo, scratches are harder to see, the crease is less noticeable and the surface is much less reflective. Those are the differences that make the film stand out to me.

The interesting part is how the screen looks with that layer on it. A crease that draws less attention and fewer distracting reflections are things I would happily take on another foldable.

From the Duo to the Fold8

The film comes off the Duo easily enough in my demonstration. That leaves me with an obvious question: what happens if I put it on the Samsung?

I transfer it onto the Galaxy Z Fold8 and smooth it down. Now the Samsung has the Duo’s film sitting over its inner display.

The Fit Needs Work

It obviously does not fit exactly. There are also plenty of bubbles, and you can see them in the result.

This is a rough fit using a film made for a different phone. Still, looking at it on the Fold8 makes me think companies are going to start selling versions for other foldables. I would like to see one actually cut for this screen.

Final Thoughts

I want a properly fitted version more than I want to keep this improvised one. Would you choose a finish like this for your foldable, or do you prefer the screen as it comes?
