The Z Flip 7 Outer Display Confuses me…
As a technician, the Z Flip 7 display had me scratching my head. I wanted to see how it works and whether the screen would break if I tried to remove it. You absolutely can’t pry into this device like normal.
The only real way in is with a suction cup, some alcohol, and a heat gun to soften that stubborn adhesive.
Inside Look
When I finally opened it up, I was blown away. Woah, this looks insane. The entire assembly is an AMOLED display, no surprise there, but the adhesive is actually on the display itself.
Even the camera bumps are glued directly onto it, which makes working around them really tricky.
The Left Side Surprise
On the left side, there’s no adhesive at all. Instead, there’s a gasket, which actually makes a lot of sense. It’s clever engineering, but it also means one wrong move and the display would be broken. I had to be super careful, if my pry tool had gone even a centimeter deeper, it would have been toast.
Final Thoughts
The design is both impressive and intimidating. Every piece, from the glued camera bumps to the hidden gasket, shows how precise the engineering is. At the same time, it’s fragile enough to keep you on edge the whole time you’re opening it.
This teardown was fascinating just to see how it’s built. Fragile, clever, and a little nerve-wracking. Why did I open it? Because curiosity didn’t break the device,my clumsy hands almost did. .
