Ready to Test Your Repair Skills? Build Your Own 3D-Printed iPhone

You repair iPhones. Ready to put one on the counter and say, “I built that”?

Take on an iPhone 14 Pro build with a 3D-printed housing, using the V4 files and instructions made for experienced repairers.

A Different Kind of Repair Project

This is more involved than putting a new case on a phone. You are transferring the internal components from a donor iPhone 14 Pro into a printed housing, working through the fit and checking the functions as you go.

The printed iPhone housing, separate camera surround and small printed parts on a gold build plate.

That is what makes it interesting. You get to take the skills you use on the bench and apply them to something you probably have not built before. The result has a printed texture, a separate camera surround and a story behind it.

Get the Parts Printed. Follow the Build.

You do not need to own a 3D printer to take this on. Get the files, read the print requirements and ask a local 3D-printing service to confirm it can follow them and quote the job. They handle the printing. You handle the assembly.

There is guidance for that part, too. Basic includes the V4 STL files and brief instructions covering essential printing, assembly, safety and fit checks.

For a closer walkthrough, I would choose Premium. It includes everything in Basic, plus an instructional build video, a detailed illustrated assembly guide, real close-ups and best-effort support for build questions. You only need one package.

The purchase is digital files and instructions. You supply the donor phone, printing, hardware and tools. Read through the guide before starting, then keep it beside you as you work.

Worth the Challenge

This is a demanding build for experienced repairers. Bring patience, keep your parts organized and check the fit as you go. Follow the kit’s safety guidance, keep power isolated during the transfer and test the functions before calling it finished.

Then put it on your shop counter or office desk. When someone asks where you got it, you can say, “I built that.” You will have a phone that shows the care, skill and persistence you put into it.

Ready for a project you can be proud of?

Check the housing kit, choose the guidance you want and see whether this belongs on your workbench.
